What PWG fabricates in-house
PWG has been fabricating in plastic since 1952. Where most engraving and signage suppliers stop at producing labels and plates, PWG runs a full plastic fabrication workshop alongside the engraving floor.
That means PWG can take a job from drawing or specification through to a finished, assembled component without sub-contracting. Plastic sheet is cut to size or profiled to shape, formed or welded where required, then engraved, printed or finished in the same workshop.
Bespoke one-off jobs, ongoing repeat production runs and PWG’s own product ranges all run through the same fabrication capability.
Common bespoke fabrication outputs
Most bespoke fabrication enquiries fall into one of these categories. PWG can produce any of them in single units or batch quantities, in combination with engraving, printing or vinyl application as required.
Plastic fabrication processes
PWG runs the full set of plastic fabrication processes in-house, selected to suit the material, geometry and application:
- Laser profiling — CNC laser cutting of plastic sheet for precision parts, panel cut-outs and complex profiles.
- Cutting, drilling and edge finishing — to size, to drawing or to template.
- Solvent welding — chemical fusion of plastics for permanent, structural joints in fabricated assemblies. Used for PVC wallets, barrier components and clear plastic structures.
- Vacuum forming — shaping heated plastic sheet to a mould for housings, covers and formed panels.
- Bending and folding — for fabricated brackets, enclosures and shaped components.
- Assembly — combining fabricated, engraved, printed and vinyl-applied elements into finished, ready-to-fit products.
Common materials include acrylic, polycarbonate, PVC (rigid and flexible), ABS, foam PVC and engraving laminates. Plastic sheet materials can also be supplied alongside fabrication services.
PWG’s own product ranges
Some of PWG’s fabrication capability supports our own UK-manufactured product ranges. These are supplied direct to industrial, commercial and public sector clients across the UK and internationally:
- PVC wallets and permit holders — solvent-welded clear PVC document holders for permit-to-work systems, site safety, document display, name badges and on-site identification. Various sizes, orientations and fixings.
- Quick Barrier and barrier safety systems — PWG’s portable barrier system for fast deployment in industrial and commercial environments. Manufactured in-house and supplied with related barrier signage and identification.
- Standard fabricated safety products — including shadow boards, tool-tracker boards, permit-to-work display systems and related industrial workplace items.
Drawings and artwork for repeat-order items are held on file for fast reorder.
